We are at the height of air pollution since human existence, hence the need for helpers like Essential Oils. It is as though everything that we purchase to make our lives easier also pollutes our environment for balance. We use many of these sources of air pollution for our “convenience” on a daily basis in our modern world. From the stoves that cook our meals and the space heaters that keep us warm, to the cars that get us from one point to the other, and too many other air pollutants to list, we have an abundance of reasons to look out for ways to fight off illnesses that are linked to different forms of pollution.
With it being almost impossible to totally avoid air, and other forms of, pollution, making extra efforts for the sake of our general wellness is a necessary step in the right direction. Luckily, there are many forms of nourishment derived from nature that can aid us in our sustenance of good health. Essential Oils are like nature’s gift of love to us. We all know something or another about Essential Oils. In this article, we will be shedding more light on some of the most researched Essential Oils that have been proven to have significant health benefits and are safe for our use.

Essential Oils:
Bergamot Essential Oil:
Bergamot Oil has a refreshing Citrus scent that helps to reduce stress and anxiety; it has been found to increase feelings of happiness and relaxation. It is known to be used in perfumes and Earl Grey tea. Bergamot Oil helps to improve our mood and helps us focus. Bergamot Oil also helps to boost our immune system, energy levels, and fight inflammation. As humans we need all the help we can get to reduce inflammation as inflammation is the root of a variety of health complications. Bergamot Oil has been found to increase metabolism which helps with weight loss. This oil is to be used topically only.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil:
The main phytonutrient in the eucalyptus plant, eucalyptol, is the secret behind why Eucalyptus Oil is so great for us. Eucalyptus Oil is a great essential oil for our sinuses and lungs. In cases of bronchospasms and constrictions, Eucalyptus Oil will help open our lung tissue. Eucalyptus Oil also works by thinning the mucus which makes it come out of the sinuses or lungs easily. Eucalyptus oil will help with just about any minor lung health issues like asthma, bronchitis, or pneumonia.
Eucalyptus Oil has been found to have antimicrobial properties that help fight off viruses, candida, bacteria, TB… Adding some drops of Eucalyptus Oil to our neti pot or hot bath will help fight off a cough. Supplementing with or inhaling Eucalyptus Oil can help to reduce inflammation. It is also good for arthritis as it reduces edema. This oil has been researched and proven to be an effective and safe remedy for a large variety of lung and sinus illnesses.
Oregano Essential Oil:
I love every oil mentioned in this article, but I must say, this one is my personal favorite. Oregano is rich in antioxidants which help fight damage caused by free radicals in the body. Carvacrol and thymol, which are found to be particularly high in Oregano Essential Oils, are known to help reduce damage caused to cells by free radicals.
Oregano Essential Oil may be used as a potent and natural antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory. It has been found to treat some ear infections, flu, and some allergies. It is also effective as an antiseptic which is why it can be used to treat wounds.
From personal experience, I can attest to its efficacy in treating acne. Bear in mind that this is a hot oil and needs to be used with carrier oils if used topically.
Peppermint Essential Oil:
It is officially Peppermint season; the season of peppermint-flavoured candy cane, peppermint-scented candles, peppermint-infused treats… Marketing gimmicks aside, peppermint as a herb is a true gift to Earth. Peppermint Oil has been used in traditional medicine for the longest time. It is one of the most potent oils available. Personally, I mix some drops of Peppermint Oil and carrier oil and apply them to my temples when I feel a headache and it works.
The menthol found in Peppermint Oil helps treat indigestion and various forms of stomach upset. Menthol found in peppermint Oil has a cooling effect that can help calm skin irritations.
Applying products that contain Peppermint Oil to your scalp will help stimulate the scalp and improve blood circulation which in turn helps to increase the chances of hair regrowth.
Rosemary Essential Oil:
Rosemary Oil, like all the Essential Oils mentioned in this article, has a long list of mind-blowing benefits. It is good for arthritis and all forms of joint or muscle pain as it is anti-inflammatory. It supports energy and improves mood and adrenal health. Supplementing with and applying Rosemary Oil to the scalp promotes hair growth and thickening. It is said to promote brain health, memory, and focus.
All the oils shared above can help us improve our chances of maintaining good health when used appropriately and in moderation.

I love all the oils on your list. I also love Orange Essential Oil, but I don’t see it in this article.
